5TH BIFFES CM PROMISES SUPPORT

The 5th Bengaluru International Film Festival started on Thursday evening by 45 minutes late as there was change in the schedule of Karnataka Chief Minister arrival was well attended but there were not much of promises in the address of head of the state.

The festivals like this would help at the global level for the culture of the state. 16o films from 50 countries would help the people of cinema industry to a great extent. For the 5th BIFFES Chief Minister wished for the success and felt for the cinema lovers this is a main pillar.

Thara Anooradha welcoming the guests in Kannada and English said we have 180 films at this international film festival. The specialty is ‘Bayalu Chitrotsava’ she mentioned and the theme of this year is ‘Anti War’ she stated.

This festival is a feast to cherish in the memory. Besides the films the workshops and seminars are also part of the 5th BIFFES said Basavaraju Secretary, Kannada and Culture department

KFCC President B Vijayakumar in his address urged for government approval for subsidy to 100 films and urged government to set up Amrutha Bhavana of KFI very soon. Piracy was another issue B Vijayakumar urged for government to take action strictly.

Festival artistic director HN Narahari Rao urged the government to set up ‘Directorate of Festival’ for Bengaluru International Film Festival in his address.

Mashiro Koyayashi Japanese film maker speaking in Japan language said ‘Ellarigu Namaskara’ in Kannada said this is his first visit to Bangalore and anxious to see the films in the coming seven days.

One of the guest of honors at 5th Bengaluru International Film Festival master of musical films in South India, referred as Andhra Pradesh V Shantharam was felicitated at the festival inauguration by Dr Bharathi Vishnuvrdhana, Dr Jayamala and Hema Chaudhary with shawl, memento and garland.

The prominent film maker like Shankarabharanam, Swathi Muthyam, Sagara Sangamam and many others said he has not achieved anything in his life. I am a kindergarten student. It is super natural power that gave strength to make films. Meeting V Shantharamji after he watched ‘Shankarabharanam’ was my most cherished moment. He was my indirect Guru.

K Vishwanath aged today came with walking stick to inauguration of the festival and spoke in English. Kannada is a very sweet and beautiful language. I don’t want to spoil by using wrong words. That’s why I spoke in English he stated for a thunderous applause.
